One of the greats in the NFL, currently fifth in career rushing yards, second in rushing touchdowns and third in total touchdowns, may retire without having played in a Super Bowl.
“Sometimes it’s just not in the cards for everybody to win a Super Bowl or even play in a Super Bowl,” he said.
A zany, excitable personality, McClain already seems to fit well with the other backs.
“He’s going to bring a lot of intensity to the backfield. You can just tell he’s high tempo and he’s a good guy,” Mathews said. “He kind of reminds me of how Mike Tolbert was. He might be a little bit more rambunctious than Mike, just a little more out there, but he’s going to bring a lot. He’s going to be real good for us and he’s going to be fun to play with.”
I was really excited when I heard that the Chargers picked up McClain, especially after Tolbert left. He is a true blocking fullback, let’s be honest the Chargers haven’t had that since Lorenzo Neal, and can run when you need that change of pace. I’m liking and have high hopes for the backfield for this season.

It’s been confirmed that Junior Seau has died from an apparent suicide. I’m at a loss for words. As a kid who was in 2nd grade when the Chargers went to the Super Bowl, Junior was always my favorite player. This is a very tragic situation.
